As we slowly begin to move out of Coronavirus lockdown, we’re excited to see businesses on Academy Street reopen and welcome back customers.
Of course, each business must have measures in place to protect the safety of staff and customers – please check with individual businesses for details on opening hours and any restrictions in place.
It’s been great to see so many people supporting local businesses and we hope this continues well into the future.
So which businesses will you be visiting first?
A number of businesses are currently open, offering takeaway and other items. Among these is the newly refurbished Rose Street Foundry.
Here you can get all your Cairngorm Brewery beers, as well as spirits, wines and other items. Keep your eyes peeled for updates from Rose Street Foundry on when it will officially open. The refurbishment of this historic building has been highly anticipated in Inverness and we’ll be first in line when it does!

Across the road, Blackfriars is set to open its rooms only on 15th July for anyone looking for a great place to stay in the city. Blackfriars is still to announce when its bar and restaurant will reopen and Pentahotel is also set to welcome guests back on 15th July.

Also open is Pol-ness with traditional polish fayre and locally produced goods, and Red Pepper is serving breakfast, lunch, coffee and cakes delivered to your door or enjoyed at its outdoor seating area.
Need a shopping fix? Then La Di Da is now open selling ladies’ fashion and the Panasonic Store has all the latest tech and gadgets. The much-loved Victorian Market is also set to reopen on 13th July.
Taken up a new hobby during lockdown? Find all things musical at Ness Music and all things adventure at Craigdon’s new shop at 25 Academy Street.

If you’ve been missing festivals this year, MacGregor’s Bar is bringing the festival feel. MacGregor’s Festival of Food will bring a different pop-up kitchen to its beer garden over the coming weekends. There you can sample the delicious delights of Redshank, The LunchBox Boys and Cheese and Tomatin…yum!
If that’s got you hungry, Coyote’s Inverness has your takeaway covered with a selection of burgers that have been described as “the best in town” by some customers.
And to wash down all that delicious food, the team at Bar One has developed a cocktail delivery service to bring the favourites from the bar directly to you. Until the bar reopens, check out Mix’d to try everything from a Raspberry Ripple Martini and Candy Floss Cosmo to a Cherry Chocolate Manhattan and Maple Old Fashioned. Cheers to that!

And that’s just a small selection of businesses reopening so please let us know if your business is also reopening. Well done to all the businesses on Academy Street and throughout Inverness that have been adapting and innovating throughout this time.
We can’t wait to have you back!
